Early Education Center

Welcome to the HGCS Early Education Center! HGCS continues to celebrate over 25 years as a distinctively Christian school and over 41 years in Early Education at our Harris Campus. We are also thankful to be able to celebrate our 2nd year as a ½ day Preschool Program at our Mallard Creek Campus. It is good to have known His faithfulness as we look forward to watching His new mercies every day at Hickory Grove Christian School.

Our purpose is to honor God by providing whole child developmental activities that facilitate growth in the lives of young children. Our teachers and staff provide a warm and secure Christian atmosphere where each child has the opportunity to grow — spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally, and socially.

It is a joy and privilege to nurture and teach children in a safe and Christ-honoring environment. At Hickory Grove, we will always seek to know Christ and to make Him known in our center, our community, and our world. I am happy to partner with your family this year and look forward to a fantastic year of playing, growing, and learning together.

Currently, your family, our school, church, community, and the world is PERSEVERING through the hardships of a Global Pandemic. Therefore, at HGCS we are aware that now, more than ever, a happy healthy environment for young children is essential.

The Word of God, as always, speaks clearly:

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.”

This will be our theme as we point others to Godly PERSEVERANCE.

With strict health COVID-19 Guidelines, our center will teach using curricula supporting learning that is most important for helping young children develop.  The Creative Curriculum®  and The Gospel Project for Preschool will be incorporated weekly in every classroom. Each child is guided according to age and developmentally appropriate activities. Academic time for three and four-year-olds is a priority because this is the child's first exposure to a structured learning environment. As a school, we understand there is value in recognizing the developmental stages that a child experiences because it is indeed God’s design for them. Our ministry is to offer a support system to assist your child in developing a strong foundation in learning.

These curricula will work in conjunction to best grow our children both educationally and biblically. Age and developmentally appropriate learning centers within the classroom support unit studies every 4 weeks. We encourage a whole-child approach to Early Education which is defined by best practice and policy. We encourage relationships that promote healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged children. Partnered with your family and a steady focus on the Gospel, we truly will grow healthy, happy children for His Kingdom.
