Middle School

Larry Stinson
Middle School Principal

The middle school years can be the most rewarding, yet challenging years of any students educational journey. Most of my experience lies within the 6-8 grade configuration and I have always considered it invigorating. The middle school is located on the 2nd floor of the Education Center with the exception of the elective opportunities that are afforded each student. Our new staff includes Amanda Wigley who will be transferring from the 2nd grade to teach 6th and 7th grade Language Arts. LaNette Crowe will be our new band director as well as an additional component of our total fine arts program through her various musical abilities. We will be adding an Honors English component for our 6th and 7th grade students and for the first time will be offering high school credit for our qualified Algebra I students. Heath Blackmon will be teaching PE for all middle school boys and Tammy Bright, our Science Lab facilitator, will be teaching a Study Skills class for all of our 6th graders to help them in their transition to middle school . We are expanding our tutorial opportunities within the school day with a special emphasis on Math.

As always, it is very important to me to see that your needs are met and questions answered. Do not hesitate to call on me with any concerns that you may have. I continue to be impressed with the credentials of our staff and their total commitment to providing a Christian education for each student. As our student population becomes more diverse, we are committed to maintaining a quality educational environment with a Biblical worldview. Please join me in praying that 2018-2019 will be a breakthrough year for HGCS middle school.

In Christ alone,
